1. Who we are
Velour operates joinvelour.com and related private beta services. For privacy questions, data requests, or account deletion, contact us at privacy@joinvelour.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account and contact data, such as email address and sign-in activity.
- Waitlist and onboarding data, such as city, intent, privacy preference, pace, communication style, boundaries, and age confirmation.
- Profile photos and private gallery images that members choose to upload, including moderation status and related metadata.
- Generated compatibility data, including chemistry profiles, match signals, scores, match status, consent responses, and reveal status.
- Identity verification status from Stripe Identity. Velour does not store copies of identity documents.
- Billing status and subscription metadata from Stripe. Velour does not store full card numbers.
- Technical data, such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, security logs, rate-limit events, and admin audit records.
3. How we use information
- To operate the waitlist, onboarding, sign-in, subscriptions, identity checks, and member dashboard.
- To create AI-assisted compatibility profiles and match recommendations.
- To store profile photos, prepare photo trust checks, and support mutual-consent private gallery reveals.
- To enforce consent-first reveal rules and keep direct contact details hidden unless product rules permit the next step.
- To prevent spam, scams, abuse, non-consensual behavior, and unauthorized access.
- To send service emails, such as sign-in links, invitations, billing messages, and match notifications.
- To comply with legal, safety, tax, accounting, and platform obligations.
4. AI-assisted matching and automated processing
Velour uses rules and AI-assisted systems to help create compatibility profiles, rank matches, identify safety signals, prepare photo moderation, and decide whether a match is locked, eligible, revealed, or blocked. These systems are designed to support consent, privacy, and safety. Members can decline matches, withdraw interest where available, and request account review or deletion.
5. Sharing with providers
We share data with service providers only as needed to run Velour, including hosting providers, database infrastructure, email delivery providers, Stripe for billing and identity verification, security tooling, and professional advisors. We do not sell member profiles.
6. Retention
We keep personal data for as long as needed to operate the private beta, maintain safety records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. You may request deletion, though some records may be kept where required for safety, fraud prevention, accounting, or legal reasons.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data. You may also have rights related to automated decision-making and profiling. Contact us at privacy@joinvelour.com to make a request.
8. Security and age limit
Velour is for adults only. You must be 18 or older to use the service. We use technical, organizational, and access-control safeguards, but no online service can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as Velour develops. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify members through the product or by email.
